*Chirp* – Dog Tags for Kids

Dog Tags for Kids
alilbirdie.com found an amazing project that helps support our troops in a very heart warming way.
Dog Tags for Kids, is a grassroots effort to help support our troops and their families. Often when a mom or dad is deployed the kids at home ask their parents to send them something. This is a problem for many of our solders as there are no souvenir shops on the front lines.
Dog Tags for Kids, came up with the answer to help those Moms and Dads out – engraved dog tags (just like Dad and Mom).
Specially engraved dog tags are easy to ship. They are small enough to send overseas to service men and women serving in Iraq, Kuwait, or Afghanistan. The Dog Tags are then distributed among the troops at no cost to them. The special tags are easily sent back to their children tucked into a letter or card.
These Dog Tags give the children of our solders something to hold on to until Dad or Mom gets back home! It also helps with the overall morale of our troops. How wonderful is that?
alilbirdie.com loved this so much you just couldn’t keep me from chirping about it!
For a donation of just $5.00, Dog Tags for Kids, will be able to give 10 soldiers the ability to send this special gift back home to their children, giving them something to hold on to until they return home. Dog Tags for Kids is all about helping both soldiers and children cope with the distance between them.
Check it out for yourself, and help our service men and women be able to give a gift from the heart even when they are far away!

*Chirp* – Real or Fake!
“REAL or FAKE?” Now before you start thinking like a dirty bird, remember it is the Holiday Season and I’m chirping about trees!
Everyone seems to have an opinion on the matter. Even those who don’t celebrate Christmas seem to have a strong feeling about it.
I will go so far as to agree that there are many reasons why an artificial tree will do the same job as a real tree, but there are just as many people who hold strong traditions within their families. Picking out the tree and the spending the night decorating it can hold it’s own meaning and tradition to many families
So in this spirit, I offer you the opportunity to tweak your tradition just a bit.
Santa Clarita seems to have its fair share of Christmas tree lots. They seem to pop up like mushrooms from beneath the electrical towers they are under. Nothing says tradition like watching granddad’s defibrillator go off, while picking out the perfect Tannenbaum! But, Boy Scout Troop 2379 has it’s own Christmas Tree Lot at the Elks’ Lodge on Sierra Hwy. They will have freshly cut Noble Pines and Douglas Firs. Supporting the Boy Scout Troop 2379 and the work they do throughout our community keeps the spirit of the season. Making it one of the best ways to add to any family traditions.
Make sure you tell them alilbirdie.com sent you!
